FACTS

  • Height: The Puracé volcano reaches an elevation of 4,650 meters above sea level.  

  • Location: The park is located in the southern Andean region of Colombia, in the Department of Cauca, about 60 km northwest of Popayán.  

  • Size: The Parque Puracé covers approximately 2,400 square kilometers.  

  • Geology: The park is known for its geothermal activity, with many hot springs and steam vents resulting from the active volcanic processes.  

  • Conservation status: Parque Puracé is a national protected area and is part of Colombia's network of national parks.

ACTIVITIES

  • San Juan Hot Springs: Relax at the thermal springs with a temperature of up to 36°C (not suitable for bathing).
